Pulmonary rehab is designed to help people with chronic lung diseases manage their pulmonary condition through education, exercise and breathing techniques. The goal is to promote recovery, improve physical function and decrease shortness of breath. By controlling, reducing and/or alleviating the symptoms and complications of pulmonary disease, the patient can achieve an optimal level of independence and physical capabilities.

Admission to this program requires a physician referral and includes the following pulmonary conditions:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchiectasis
  • Chronic Bronchitis
  • COPD
  • COVID-19 (post covid symptoms/conditions)
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Emphysema
  • Interstitial Lung Disease
  • Lung Cancer
  • Lung Volume Reduction Surgery
  • Pre/Post Lung Transplant
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis

Our program is individualized and tailored to each patient, based on their specific needs. The program is two days per week which includes monitored exercise and education. Patients are monitored by a Respiratory Therapist and Registered Nurses that will track patients’ progress, guiding and helping them take control of their breathing and, ultimately, their lives.

Educational topics may include but are not limited to: Breathing techniques and exercises, respiratory disease symptom & prevention management, medications, diet and nutrition, smoking cessation, oxygen use, ways to reduce anxiety and depression and energy conservation.
