Dr. Jennifer Boevers, D.O.
Dr. Boevers joined the medical staff in August of 2016. Dr. Boevers attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA and later graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, Des Moines, IA. Dr. Boevers completed her residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family in her free time. Dr. Boevers specializes in family medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, pediatrics and women’s health. She is excited to work in the rural setting and gain personal relationships with her patients. She is now accepting patients of all ages at the Pocahontas UnityPoint Clinic.

Kylie (Woodley) Maurer, PA-C
Kylie joined the Medical Staff at Pocahontas UnityPoint Physicians Group and Pocahontas Community Hospital on September 8, 2015 and is a native of Laurens, Iowa.  She did her undergraduate at Buena Vista University in 2012 and received her degree from the Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Kylie enjoys golfing in her free time.  She and her new husband Kevin, live on a farm near Hartley.  Kylie stated that she “ looks forward to serving and helping the people of Laurens who helped her grow up to be the person she is today.” Kylie sees patients at the Laurens UnityPoint Clinic four  days a week with regular clinic hours on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and is at the Pocahontas Clinic on Tuesdays.

Paulette Gleason, ARNP

Paulette Gleason, ARNP joined the Medical Staff at Pocahontas & Manson UnityPoint and Pocahontas Community Hospital in November of 2017. For the past 24 years, Paulette has spent time as a nurse in nearly every department at Trinity in Fort Dodge from medical to surgical to the cath lab and for the past eight years, Paulette has been a critical care nurse. Gleason is a native of Manson and is very eager to return to her home community and serve the people of Manson. While she will spend most of her time in the Manson clinic, Paulette will practice in Pocahontas each Wednesday. Gleason is a mother of four and a grandmother of eight who lives a healthy lifestyle. She is an avid runner and swimmer.

Sara Thorkildsen, F.N.P.-B.C.

Sara Thorkildsen, FNP, joined the Medical Staff at Pocahontas & Manson UnityPoint and Pocahontas Community Hospital in February of 2018. Sara is a Manson native who previously worked in urgent care in Fort Dodge. She is enjoying taking care of the people she knows being back to her hometown and the surrounding areas. Sara worked as a CNA at the Manson Good Samaritan Center after a class at MNW sparked her interest. She obtained her LPN and RN from Iowa Central Community College. Sara then decided she wanted some adventure in her life so she signed up with the US Navy as a nurse at age 22. She then learned Spanish and Russian. She headed out to Bethesda, MD and the Walter Reed Military Medical Center as a member of the Nurse Corps, working deliveries there. She also treated some of the nation’s top military brass and elected officials while there. After 8 years and 1 month of active duty, Sara decided to come back home. In 2014, Thorkildsen returned to the family farm where she was raised outside of Manson. She then earned her degree as certified family nurse practitioner from Frontier Nursing University - one of the nation’s top family medicine schools. Sara has three elementary age sons and serves as the Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 95 in Manson. Sara is at the Pocahontas UnityPoint Clinic on Mondays, Wednesday afternoons and Thursdays and at the Manson UnityPoint Clinic on Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings and Fridays.

Selena Meacham, FNP
Selena Meacham, FNP joined the team in August of 2019. Selena is a St. Mary’s, Iowa native and a graduate of Martensdale-St. Mary’s. She obtained both her undergrad and graduate degrees from Morningside College in Sioux City. Before becoming a FNP, Selena worked as a nurse in the ER at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s for 4 years.
     Selena and her husband Billy have two dogs and one cat. Billy is a substitute teacher here at Pocahontas Area Middle & High Schools. In her free time, Selena enjoys painting, hunting with her dad, and cuddling with her puppies. Billy and Selena enjoy golfing together and Selena enjoys watching Billy coach baseball in the summer. 
    Selena is happy to be living in Pocahontas, she missed the small town feel while they lived in Sioux City and is very excited to get back to that. She knows there is a lot to learn in her new position as a family nurse practitioner and is looking forward to that. 
     Selena is available for appointments at the Pocahontas UnityPoint Clinic Monday-Friday.
