Pocahontas Community Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our Emergency Medical Services team as a full-time Paramedic, AEMT, or EMT. If you are passionate about providing high-quality pre-hospital care and are looking for a supportive environment to grow your career, we want to hear from you!
Duties:
- Provide pre-hospital care to the sick and injured.
- Assist in the Emergency Room (ER) and other hospital areas as time permits.
- Perform ER responsibilities, including:
- Carrying out medical orders and procedures.
- Patient documentation.
- Medication administration within your scope of practice.
- Engage in physical activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and driving.
- Maintain effective communication and utilize computer systems for documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Current Iowa Paramedic, AEMT, or EMT certification.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Chauffeur’s driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- AEMTs and EMTs must obtain Paramedic certification within 2 years of hire.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and teamwork.

Full-time Laboratory Technician $10,000.00 Sign On Bonus
Pocahontas Community Hospital Laboratory has an opening for a full-time Lab Tech. We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). A $10,000 sign on bonus offered with a two-year commitment.
Requirements: Successful completion of medical laboratory technician or technologist program. ASCP or equivalent preferred but not required; Computer proficiency; familiarity with basic laboratory equipment; an ability to work with minimal supervision.
Proficient in phlebotomy. Includes on call weeknights, weekend, and holiday rotation.
