Mobile Cardiac Telemetry

Our Oxygen Evaluation and Qualification services assess oxygen saturation levels to determine if long-term oxygen therapy is needed and ensure the correct liter flow for optimal health. We provide pulse oximetry at rest and with activity, a six-minute walk test, and overnight oximetry to evaluate oxygen levels in different conditions. These tests help ensure proper oxygen management for improved respiratory and overall well-being.
Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) assess how well your lungs work by measuring lung volume, capacity, airflow, and gas exchange. These tests help diagnose lung conditions, track disease progression, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and determine lung function before surgery or medical procedures. Available Pulmonary Function Tests include:
- Spirometry – Measures how much air you can inhale and exhale and how quickly. Performed by breathing into a mouthpiece with deep breaths. Helps identify airflow obstruction or restriction.
- Lung Volume Testing (Plethysmography) – Assesses total lung capacity and the amount of air left after exhaling. Conducted in a transparent booth while breathing into a mouthpiece using different breathing techniques.
- Diffusion Capacity – Evaluates how efficiently oxygen moves from the lungs into the bloodstream. Involves breathing in a gas mixture to measure absorption levels.
- Complete Pulmonary Function Test – A comprehensive test that includes spirometry, lung volume measurement, and diffusion capacity.
Fraction of Expired Nitric Oxide (FeNO) – Measures nitric oxide levels in exhaled air to assess airway inflammation, which can help diagnose and manage conditions like asthma.
Our accredited Sleep Lab helps patients overcome sleep problems to improve their overall health. We offer home and in-lab sleep studies, as well as ongoing equipment management and therapy support.
Home Sleep Test
- Requires a provider referral; some insurance plans may need prior authorization.
- Patients pick up a monitor and complete a sleep assessment at home.
- The test records breathing, chest movement, oxygen levels, and heart rate while the patient sleeps in their own bed.
- The next day, patients return the monitor for analysis by a board-certified sleep physician, with results sent to their provider.
- The ordering provider who will then follow up with the patient regarding next steps.
In-Lab Sleep Test
- Requires a provider referral; some insurance plans may need prior authorization.
- Patients will complete a sleep assessment at home prior to their appointment.
- Patients spend the night at our hospital sleep lab, monitored by a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). We contract with Western Iowa Sleep to staff a licensed RPSGT for our in-lab studies.
- Patient will have sensors attached to their head, chest and limbs. These sensors monitor sleep stages via EEG (brain waves), eye, and other muscle movements.
- The study tracks brain waves, breathing, heart rate, muscle movement, snoring, sleep positioning, and oxygen levels to diagnose sleep disorders.
- May be diagnostic or therapeutic, depending on the provider’s orders.
- The test will be concluded in time for the patient to prepare and leave for the day.
- Results are analyzed by a board-certified sleep physician and sent to the ordering provider for follow-up.
- The ordering provider who will then follow up with the patient regarding next steps.
Following an acute event or new diagnosis, your medical provider may recommend cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation as part of your treatment plan. These programs focus on improving your heart and lung function through monitored exercise and education.
Our comprehensive therapies
Our skilled team provides fast and effective breathing support for patients in respiratory distress, helping to stabilize them for safe transport to advanced care. We use both mechanical ventilation and non-invasive options like BiPAP/bilevel ventilation to ensure the best possible care.
Includes education involving the disease process, triggers and medications; a personalized action plan; and ongoing support and monitoring for effective management and improved outcomes.
Lung expansion therapy includes a variety of respiratory care modalities designed to prevent or correct collapsed lung tissue (i.e. atelectasis) including:
- Deep breathing techniques including diaphragmatic breathing, pursed lip breathing, and breath holding
- Incentive spirometry
- Positive pressure therapy including AccuPAP, CPAP and Metaneb
Our team delivers oxygen ranging from low flow to high flow using a multitude of delivery systems and incorporating humidification when needed.
Our staff work with patients on managing their sleep health by completing sleep screenings through evaluation and the use of assessment tools to provide education on sleep hygiene and sleep disorders. They are able to perform sleep equipment evaluation with a PAP therapy download and inspection of equipment as well as education of proper use and maintenance of the equipment.d
Bronchial hygiene therapies include airway clearance techniques to help mobilize and remove secretions to improve ventilation. These include:
- Postural drainage which involves positioning to facilitate secretion movement and clearance.
- Chest physiotherapy using flutter valves, manual percussion, or mechanical percussion and vibration with the Vest System.
- Metaneb therapy using variations in air flow and pressure to provide both lung expansion and bronchial hygiene.
Promoting Recovery for Cardiac and Pulmonary Conditions
Our dedicated staff work with a multitude of cardiac and pulmonary conditions including but not limited to coronary artery disease, heart failure, asthma, bronchiectasis, COPD, and obstructive sleep apnea. We are dedicated to assisting you in your journey to recovery by improving physical function, understanding the emotional effects of significant events and/or chronic disease.
