About Us

Welcome

On behalf of all of our providers, staff and myself, I would like to thank you for taking the time to see what Pocahontas Community Hospital is all about.

All of our employees are committed to your care.  We want to make sure you are very satisfied with the care you receive at our facility.  If at any time you are not completely satisfied, please let us know.

We are proud to serve the residents of Pocahontas County. Our facility is small enough to provide personalized, individual care and big enough to provide state-of-the-art, comprehensive care as well. We strive to offer top of the line health care services that are close and convenient for our customers.

From wellness and prevention to the common cold or serious illness, our physicians and staff recognize their responsibility to serve our customers with the highest standards of compassionate, convenient, and cost effective health care.

If you need to visit with me for any reason, please call me, my office phone number is (712) 335-5224.

We again want to make sure that we provide you and your family with the very best of care. Thank you for choosing Pocahontas Community Hospital!

Sincerely,
James Roetman

Board of Trustees

Our hospital is guided by a volunteer board of trustees. The Pocahontas Hospital Board of Trustees was established on May 31, 1967 with George Cushing, Robert Flynn and Gary Burns as Trustees. The Board established that is was responsible for raising funds or otherwise arranging for the availability of funds, adopting a budget for the institution, and approving schedules of charges. On November 20, 1981 the Pocahontas City Council passed an ordinance to increase the Hospital Board of Trustees to five members.

(Gregg White, Vice-President; Jody Lyon, Treasurer; Patrick Sullivan, Kim Wood, and Rick Winegarden, President.)
